YS is a Ukrainian demi-couture brand founded in 2017 in the heart of Kyiv by designer and creative director Yanis Stepanenko. His journey began after graduating from the Royal Bournemouth College of Arts in England and continued at the legendary Central Saint Martins.
A long separation from his homeland during Ukraine’s most difficult times profoundly shaped Yanis’s vision, strengthening his connection to his roots and inspiring him to reinterpret cultural heritage through a modern lens. As he says: “Without awareness of our past, there is no future.”
